Even More Warrior Women On Metal Albums.

Time for some more album covers depicting young ladies armed to the teeth.
In all fairness, at least one of these isn't so much "Woman warrior" as "Mass-murdering Nutcase"
See if you can spot which one.

Anima Sola - Luna De Argel (Spain 2004)

Woman warrior CD cover
Our young heroine takes a moment away from her busy
schedule of decapitations to catch a breather
And is currently regretting her decision to come out without a coat.

Arthemis - Back From The Heat (Italy 2005)

topless Warrior woman
You might want to take a look behind you love...
Not the most comprehensive armour I've ever seen, it must be said.

Taramis - Queen Of Thieves (Australia 1987)

What we have here is a warrior-woman who's got
smart and now has people to fight for her.
(OK, I admit it.  I really like this pic and just wanted an excuse to post it.)

Debauchery - Germany's Next Death Metal (Germany 2011)

Woman with chainsaw.
Normally girls on Death Metal covers are on the wrong end of the chainsaw.
This young lady has other ideas.
Interestingly, so far none of her victims have considered the
possibility  of running away.

Evilyn - The Night Of Delusions  EP (Finland 2012)

Woman with broadsword
Cartoony, but I quite like this one for some reason.

Magica - The Scroll of Stone (Romania 2002)

Warrior Woman with sword Metal album
This runic stone carries a terrible curse for all those who rest against it.
When this lass sat down, she was a pudgy, middle-aged  housewife named Gladys.
There was somebody who suggested maybe uprooting the stone a few years back
but he was beaten to death by the other guys in town.

And finally...

Stormwitch - Walpurgis Night (Germany 1984)

Metal woman with mace
Leather, flames, Spiky-ball-on-a-chain thingie...
Yeah, this cover is just pure Heavy Metal.
Excellent.
Hopefully she wasn't too badly burnt.

That's it for now, folks.
See you in a day or so.

  1. The young lady on the Arthemis cover looks a lot like Twin Peaks' Laura Palmer.

  2. One of the wonders of the world BigD. How the hell do those outfits stay on? I mean, there generally seems to be quite a bit of action. That see-through top's interesting. What's that all about?

Mmm...(I'm concentrating)...There must be something in the water!
Like you BigD, I quite like the cartoon. But I would like to award Gladys something for encouragement. (Is that really a Romanian name?)
    Cheers, ic

    1. I suspect it's a variation on the old Modesty Blaise "Stunner" routine. While the bad guys are paying attention to...the "girls"... they're not paying attention to the bloody great spike she's got on her elbow.
Now imagine where she probably sticks it...

  3. Amazing how many of these covers you find use Luis Royo's work. 2 of these are Royo's work. Every time I see it on a cover, especially on the out of country ones, I wonder how much royalties Royo got....

    1. I've just had this mental imagine of Luis Royo marching into a record company with a carrier bag going "I'm having one of these. And one of these. And gimme that one as well. You owe me, dammit. And Boris Vallejo is going to pop by in the afternoon."
