Comic: Vampire Vixens Of The Wehrmacht (2013)

sexy nazi vampire

May 1940.  Britain stands alone against the Nazi War Machine.  As if things weren't bad enough, Churchill learns that the Germans have terrifying new allies. Vampires.
Through cunning use of the Black Arts, one of these vampires is enticed over to serve the British cause.  Now the Special Occult Executive's newest agent and her reluctant human partner are off to retrieve a very special magical artifact.

I've been meaning to pick this up for a while, for the title if nothing else, but was a little concerned that I'd end up buying a turkey.
Well I can now confirm that yes, "Vampire Vixens" is every bit as bloody, bawdy and British as I'd been hoping for.
As a starting point I have to admire the elegant use of language...
A phrase I intend to steal for my own use as soon as I can find a suitable context
But he's not who you are reading this comic for, is it?  So without further ado let's bring in leading lady Libyenah.
Sexy nazi vampire
Oh my
So we have a strait-laced Royal Marines Chaplain and a blood-drinking creature of the night who dresses like a pole-dancer. While still not the weirdest partnership in comics history,  a certain amount of tension is inevitable.

Despite the whole bloodsucking fiend thing,  she definitely has a sense of humour.

Well that's bawdy covered and you have to admit, this is the sort of thing only the Brits could come up with.
You need to have spent your formative years taking in British war comics, Monty Python, Hammer Horror and Carry On films to get the right blend of dark, snark and sexy.

Once our team hit the ground the operative word becomes "bloody". Very bloody. Retrieving the artefact involves battling a gaggle of Nazi sorcerers, all of whom are butt naked. Don't ask me why.
Without going into too much detail, at this point vamp Libyenah pulls off a self-defence move that's brutally effective and made my eyes water.
There's a reason I didn't want to post too many scans...

So, is this any good: Well I can't see this being for everybody but I absolutely loved it. The artwork is great, the writing is fun without being remotely "Safe" and Libenyah manages to be sexy, likable and bloody lethal all at the same time.
Apparently the creative team are working on the followup right about now.

If you fancy a bit of nudist Nazi-bashing action, you can get this comic at:  http://www.vampirevixens.co.uk/

That's all folks.

(All pics remain the property of the creative team and publishers and are only included because writing about a highly visual media such as comics without using images is, let's be honest, a bit silly.)
