Best friends Spencer and Hogan have just graduated from college and are due to start work at a prestigious lawfirm when Hogan's predilection for older women throws a spanner in the works.
Some hurried string-pulling gets our heroes a job at a firm that specialise in Divorce Law, dodgy legal practices and treating new staff like utter shit. However in the process Hogan and Spencer happen to meet some older women in need of young male company, and since our boys happen to know lots of young men who would like to meet sexy older women, it seems like there's a lucrative opportunity to bring the two together for pleasure and profit.
Cougar Club is born.
I was looking for something lowbrow and funny to while away an evening and since this looked like it was in the American Pie/Road Trip sort of bracket I thought it might be worth picking up.
I was so, so wrong.
There's nothing wrong with the cast, except possibly that they deserved better, but watching this film was a bit of a struggle. I kept wanting to go off and do something else instead. I certainly didn't laugh.
I suppose there is a plus in that instead of the horny heroes targeting young college girls, they're aiming for older women who know exactly what they want. And there is an unexpected twist in a romantic subplot that had been strictly by the numbers and half-hearted to that point. Not really enough to justify the time I spent waiting for something funny to happen.
How much did I pay for this?: 50p
Was it worth it? No. Cougar Club wastes some useful actors and a decent idea in a film that fails to entertain. Don't bother.
What the hell is that cast doing in this bilge?
ReplyDeleteI know. What a colossal waste of talent.
