And once in a while I stumble across a song that really makes an impact for all kinds of reasons.
In this case i was flicking through ANTIPODES channel, devoted to bands that seem to be unknown outside Australia and as soon as I saw this thumbnail I had to see what the hell it was all about.
Yes, yes it did.
Watch and marvel.
Mother Goose - Baked Beans (1977)
A little bit of research reveals that Mother Goose were a troupe of theatrical Kiwis who moved to
Australia and for a brief while became one of Down Under's biggest touring attractions.
The outfits certainly made them memorable. Yes, they played live like that.
Sadly they never seemed to have got any exposure outside Oz because I'm sure
UK audiences would have loved them, at least for a little while.

So after hearing this song I suddenly remembered another one that would be a perfect partner in crime.
In 1978 Britain's own Streetband had a novelty hit with the quirky Toast.
Keen eyes will notice that the lead singer is a pre-solo Paul Young.
(PS. I actually remember seeing this lot on Top of the Pops.)

Now there'a package tour for you.
Got any food related songs that would fit on the same stage as these guys?
Please let me know.
That's all folks.
