"Sire, I can proudly inform you that our recruiting efforts have been fruitful beyond our expectations.
Troops have flooded in from every corner and are now ready to do battle with any and all who would challenge us.
...Although we might have a few issues organising them as they are a motley lot indeed. "
So yeah, after this post ->I HAVE AN ARMY NOW things escalated a bit. One wild session on Ebay later . I took delivery of some parcels which held a great mass of toy soldiers in several sizes and more colours than you might imagine.
So after an hour or so, digging through the pile and trying to match small, plastic figures up by colour - and trust me, that's a whole lot of fun when you're dealing with about 7 slightly different shades of green - I got them all bagged up then wondered what the hell I was going to do with a brigade's worth of toy soldiers.
Take some photos obviously.
While I will (eventually) get them all laid out on my kitchen floor for inspection, I wanted to share some pics of each unit first. This is the first of several posts.
1. Some luridly coloured Native Americans and equally striking Cowboys.
"So where did you say these guys came from again? were they sleeping under a hill or something?"
Technically they still count as "Toy Soldiers"
4. Whatever this guy is.
5. Fearsome Fallschirmjäger
Possibly the best quality troops in this collection. Airfix, maybe?
You can tell what army they are supposed to be and as we shall see, that's going to get a lot more difficult as we go on.
I still have a LOT of pictures to take - I think there's another dozen bags to go - and besides, I need to get my tea. Expect more pics tomorrow.
