Hello headbangers, moshers, rivetheads and people who like bellowing along to "Ace Of Spades" when pissed. Welcome to another collection of songs that celebrate the Metallic lifestyle.
I don't have a theme this time around, just a buncha stuff I think you might like. Enjoy.
Trance(Mission) - Metal Men (2003)
See how many song references you can spot.
Honour to: SteelIvsMetal
Babylon - Metal Fire (Malaysia 1990)
I quite like this one. I wouldn't mind hearing more of these boys.
Honour to: besikrom
The next band describe themselves as "Progesssive Black/Doom Death Metal"
See what you think.
Hidden - Planets Of Metal (USA 2005)
Honour to: Sortiarus
Warning SF - Metal Maniac (USA 2002)
If I didn't know better I'd have sworn this song was from some mid-80s cult heroes.
Not to be confused with Darren Wharton's melodic rock crew.
Although frankly I can't see anybody remaining misinformed for longer than ..oh..a few seconds.
Starts of slow and epic before launching into frenzied South American Thrash
Hi Dale,
ReplyDeleteHad a quick listen and my No.1 was the Malaysian band. Not so keen on 'the boys from Brazil'. Wanted to show you one from Oz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t74g1JZpVaA The band is Mattersphere (from Canberra) and the lead singer, Ted Deakin and I are buddies from way back. We recorded together in the 90's and the track 'Emma' (which got a fair bit of small time air play) is mine. https://myspace.com/neilkillion/music/song/emma-14610848-14412033
The Mattersphere track isn't bad at all.
DeleteThe "Emma" track is pretty good too. It's like something from a Rock musical. Is it weird that I started wondering what it would be like if there was some power chords added?
Clearly you're a man of many talents :).
Hi Dale,
DeleteThanks. Yes the Emma track could be worked for a band with power chords and rhythm. Ted and I recorded quite a few together back in the day.
Please let me know if you could give Mattersphere a plug sometime. They actually made Billboard top 100 (I think) in the US recently.
Cheers, Neil
I can give Mattersphere a bit of a plug no worries. Happy to help.
DeleteHahaha, Trance Mission is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteIt is a fun track, isn't it?
